Traveling to St. Louis with the family?!
I’m going to tell you 5 Ways to Keep Your Kid’s off their Cell Phones in St. Louis…unless it’s to take a picture of course.;-)
Explore St. Louis! The number one way to keep kids off their cell phones is to allow them to explore. Life can actually be more fun than playing games on cell phones and other electronic devices. But what keeps kids from enjoying those things is the lack of interesting things to explore. Exploration causes children to discover something new and sets a spark in their mind that has a lasting affect. Once that spark is lit, tt makes them curious about more and more. So when you are choosing places to go and things to do like. Remember the things that will create a spark for your children.
There are tons of things to see in St. Louis. One example is the Butterfly House. Where you can view tons of butterflies in a natural exhibit and watch them fly all around you. The last time I went inside a Butterfly exhibit, I remember tagging behind and watching my son look amazed when a butterfly decided that his shoulder was a great place to land.
Stay in a place that allows the party to continue. Ever thought about a hotel with an attached waterpark? Those are all the rave! Especially for families. Although the kids may be worn out from a day of adventure. Staying in a hotel that offers additional amenities to keep the party going is good. Or you can even commit to staying present. Which means pack the UNO deck and Monopoly Game Board so that the fun continues while you are traveling. Just remember this, life will go back to normal if you let it but invest the time away back into your family.
Do things you’ve never done before like riding the Superman ride at Six Flags. Our children don’t always have the opportunity to see the adventurous side of their parents. Sometimes its great to let your hair down and show your kids what you’re really made of.
