DIY All Natural Leave in Conditioner w/ Essential Oil

My DIY All Natural Leave in Conditioner w/ Essential Oil

Although, there are many quality products on the market to go “gaga” over, making a conditioning leave in spray using natural products from home is always a fun DIY activity. By now, many of you know that water = moisture for hair. However, combining water with the natural healing properties of essential oils can produce great outcomes for your hair’s health.

Since I’ve started using essential oils I’ve been coming up with new ways of using them that will benefit my body holistically. I’ve learned that oils such as lavender and lemon can help grow healthy, shiny hair, reduce dryness and hair loss due to the natural aging process. Rosemary is an natural conditioner and treatment that reduces dandruff, scalp irritation, and stimulates hair growth. Essential oils are the perfect additive to any hair product because they provide repair and nourishment for all hair types naturally.

1 cup of water. This can be substituted or split in half to include Coconut milk or Rose Water. Rose Water is a natural perfume but also soothes in, brings balance and helps to revitalize and nourish. Rose water is also a natural antiseptic with antibacterial properties and also stimulates blood circulation which is great for promoting hair growth. Coconut milk is great for hair strengthening by adding elasticity to weak, brittle strands. It penetrates the hair shaft to moisturize and deeply condition.

1/4 cup of vegetable glycerin. Vegetable glycerin is a moisturizing ingredient but can be substituted for any carrier oil of your liking. I’m personally a fan of sweet almond. I’ve used it for years however, olive oil, grape seed oil, and jojoba oil are also really great options.

1 tsp of your preferred essential oil. See below for oil benefits for each type of hair.

1 12 oz or more Spray Bottle. You can easily find this at a dollar store or even a beauty supply store.
