A Romantic Candlelight Dinner with all the fixings…

Trying to figure out what to do for your honey on Valentine’s Day? Too late to make reservations? Want to do something special and personalized then I have the perfect idea for you…

A Romantic Candlelight Dinner with all the fixings… Menu-page-002 IMG_1358 Cornish Hen – Crockpot recipes are fool proof and delicious. Click HERE for the recipe. IMG_1397 Asparagus (pictured above) – Follow the directions according to the package. Lightly coat with butter (optional) sprinkle a pinch of sea salt to taste. Ore-Ida Steam & Mash Potatoes (pictured above) – Prepare according to instructions. Requires milk and butter. Or Uncle Bens or Rice A Roni Long grain Wild Rice (box) – prepare according to box instructions. Rolls: Unless you are a pretty decent baker, steer clear of the dough but opt for something just as good like Sister Schubert’s rolls, you can pop them in the oven and viola! Another great option are Hawaiian Sweet Rolls which can be found in your local grocery store bakery section. Dessert – Cake in a Mug recipes are great. Click here for a quick recipe. PicMonkey Collage10Cake in a mug allows you to make a dessert for two using two individual mugs. Top it with some ice cream and you are good to go. However, if your friend, fiancé or wife like desserts. A single size serving of a cake in a cup just won’t do so my next suggestion would be for a Dump Cake. Dump cakes are a match for any sweet tooth, are seriously delicious and fool proof to make. My personal favorite is a simple peach dump cake however, you can use practically any kind of fruit to pull this off.Guys this is something you really can’t mess up. Check this out…Peach Dump cake.IMG_13901 It can be served a la carte or with a scoop of yummy homemade ice cream. Fellas, if you are a little nervous about cooking something new for the first time. Feel free to do a trial run. It could double as a Vday gift for your grandma, aunt or mom. Sometimes it isnt a matter of what you have prepared for someone but HOW you present it. So that brings us to… Presentation First: Grab a nice bottle of Wine/Champaign or Sparkling Cider and have chilled or sitting in an ice bucket. IMG_1363 Second: A simple center piece is a must! Here is a simple idea that you can use to dress up a table. IMG_1400 Third: Add some flair with a cloth napkin. Check out this link for various folding techniques for the perfect addition to your meal presentation. IMG_1402 Trying to figure out what to buy her? Give a gift that she’ll remember… Now gentlemen please do not buy her the standard teddy bear and box of candy. You will get so many cools points by doing something a little more personal. What stands out about her? What’s unique to her personality? What is something that she loves? Has she mentioned anything that she needs or wants lately? These are the questions you should start with.

  • If she’s into writing, try buying her a personalized journal.

  • An artist, get her those supplies she has always wanted. It may take some research on your part but she’s worth it.

  • If she loves movies make her a movie night pack. My friend Ericka actually did this for me for my birthday and it was so thoughtful. She took a bucket, added a blanket, a box of popcorn, candy and DVDs that were all along the theme of “following my dreams” (Dream Girls, Five HeartBeats, and Sparkle). She even put in a notebook that said, “make your own path”. It was one of the most thoughtful but non expensive gifts I have received.

  • An outfit and note with promises of a future exclusive night with you and your boo would surely make her melt.

  • If you are married…Do this and she will swoon for you. Start by cleaning the house, doing the dishes, washing and folding the laundry, fix any repairs that she has been nagging you about and finding the kids a sitter. She will be eating out the palm of your hand brothers.

  • If she’s stressed at work or busy with the kids, set her up for a spa day. You could actually

Flex your romantic muscles in whatever way you deem fit. Remember it is always the small things that count. You don’t have to wait until Valentine’s Day to surprise her with little bits of affection and thoughtfulness before this day arrives. Cross these items off your list and you are set for an Exclusive Valentine’s Day Dinner that she won’t forget! Ladies – feel free to forward this to your honey 😉 Sometimes they just need a little help with ideas.
