Convos with my son

“I love your mother’s cookies”

My son and I are sitting in the theater watching previews before our movie starts when one of the guys on screen says,

“I love your mother’s cookies”

I kind of laughed a little knowing what he meant and looked at my son. Immediately, he starts laughing and says, “Did you hear what he just said?…”

In that moment, I think he realized that he was with his mother because his next response was, “but I have NO idea what they are talking about”.

He put his head down and begin tending to the games in his phone.

Hmm…that was a very awkward moment. Should I believe that he innocently has no clue or should I go with my gut instinct that he thought it was funny for a reason.

Sigh…I’m getting old. Can’t my baby just stay a kid the rest of his life?

For those of you that find this post in hopes of understanding what, “your mother’s cookies” means. It means her goodies

They really do grow up so fast. Before we know it they’ll be heading off to college but thankfully we have these moments that we have moments like these where we can look back and laugh at. Thank you for taking the time to stop by and say hello 🙂 I appreciate it.
